Love is just a tool to remind us who we are, and that we are not alone...
The last song I considered listening from Troye Sivan, but I honestly don't know why I waited so long. I was into his other tracks at first, but this one turned out to be thrilling and endearing. It's like the first instances of love, where you are living for everything that their interest does... Surely, this is an emotion that any one can relate. Perhaps a little convincing is all it takes for a relationship to begin.
Silent screams in the background are the epitome of this song. Sampling "It Takes Two" by Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock, Sabrina Carpenter and Jonas Blue need some feelings addressed. Without saying much, the duo are about to release everything they've been keeping inside, but they need to know from the other person. Basically, the song sums up my year, and it's a wonderful conflict. Sabrina Carpenter, you've finally made it.
Saw this song on a summer playlist, and so I decided to give it a try. What I didn't expect was this blast of Disco-Country mash-up that's absolutely brilliant. I heard that Kacey Musgraves loves to challenge her Country roots, but did not expect this sophisticated track. From the pop culture references to being the bigger person, this artist ain't got no time for your obnoxious ways. Consider it the middle finger done elegantly.
Nothing could be hotter than confrontation - at least, when Hayley Kiyoko presents the situation. Stirring up a story, this girl has got a lot to ask to her former partner. Though she's with someone else, the past love keeps coming back to her, making Hayley feel something. The chorus is quite the tongue-twister, but a delight once you've got it down. If you haven't seen the video, you must; one thing leads into another rather quickly.
How this could be mistaken as a Taylor Swift song, I'm not quite sure. Going down the rabbit hole, your mind sometimes wander into territory no one should be trespassing. The rhythm in the song lingers on you, trying to reason with your mind about decisions you might regret. Alice may have gotten into wonderland, but you might find yourself lost into another dimension with Delaney Jane.
Refreshing of a song, it's a rather simple beat from Rudimental. Looking back at past memories, the conversation goes from the good, the bad, and what's next to come. The best part of it, everyone can move on from what once happened. Jess Glynne, Macklemore, and Dan Caplen compliment each other in the song, and is believable that they are actual friends in life. This song is 2018 goals for sure.
Concluding the "Fifty Shades" Saga, I believe this may be the best song from the series. An extravagant and dramatic piece to express the love they share, Liam Payne and Rita Ora sing to each other as though they've been waiting forever. Perhaps that's the reason why "Fifty Shades" has gained so much attention, for finding that true love (and nothing else whatsoever!) This is how epic a love song should sound.
Who knew that the Canadian heartthrob had this much groove in his step? Shawn Mendes suits up this piece, adding more to his guitar strumming. Throw in some spontaneity, and you've got that careless, easy-going track of wanting to be with the one that you love. Some times, love's got to have no rules, and go crazy for what matters most to you. Can't wait to see what's next for Mendes, he aced the year with this song.
What a year for Ariana Grande, it's like the media can't get enough of her personal life. But nothing stops the young artist, as she released this unexpected anthem of moving on, and being grateful for your past experiences. The whole package of this song shows that she's growing up, and it was well recognized. Her first No. 1 single, it shows what happens when you put your heart into it all - amazing results will come.
