Top 100 of 2019: 10 to 1

I want all of you, all the strings attached...

A refreshing sound to the early stages of love. I love Khalid, he's been a standout artist of the 2010s. Disclosure produced the track, making an easy going and laid back song that ponders around heated topics. Simple and yet elegant, the whole package Khalid provided proved that we need simpler songs that are direct, but handled with care. I could listen to this song all day.

Finally, a song to make you fangirl over and over again! BTS made one of the catchiest songs of this year, even though you may not understand majority of the song. Whether you're singing along or screaming your heart out, you can't help but fall in love every time. Boy bands, dancing, and throwing the word "love" - sounds like the boy band craze is coming back, and strong (please!)

When two artists collaborate, and it's everything you imagined - and more. Take it from two artists who know about love songs, going against their own strengths, they're sick of it. Speaking out of a broken heart, it's obvious to see why Lauv and Troye Sivan can't stand couples and their affections towards each other. Is it a sad song? Not really, I think of it more as a statement. I may be a sucker for love songs, but this is too good.

Never would I thought I find myself enjoying this cynical piece... I was originally scared of Billi Eilish, to be honest. Dark thoughts with lyrics that make your mother scared? Sounds like teen angst. But with some time, this song grew on me, as it did with many people, making it the biggest song of the year. While I may still be scared of young Billie, I look forward to see her next masterpiece - maybe it'll be my next Instagram caption.

Of all the songs off of thank u, next, this is my top pick. Everything about this song was real and honest, and it hurts deep. The monologue at the beginning is the advice I needed to hear: what I thought was pure imagination. With a soft tune to comfort the blow, this was the song that helped me move on. Perhaps we don't get a response, but that itself is an answer. Vulnerability at its best, Ariana Grande went hard on this track.

While I may not know how Lizzo's older song gained attention, I first knew of this song while watching this Instagram post. Look at that sass, listen to her confidence, those positive vibes got me wanting to swear for fun (but I won't). Retro, glittery funk took all came into this song, creating a self love that's got me feeling myself. Baby, when you look this good, you got to sing the anthem loud and proud!

Canadian act number one. Everyone's favourite heartthrob came with the 'I don't want to live without you' love song, which instantly got my heart. Those long and insufferable days are too much to handle, that every thought leads back to his love - this song writes itself. The romanticism behind each guitar riff is enough to have you feeling airy and lightheaded... In this particular case, that's a good thing.

Canadian act number two. Words cannot describe how much I adore this song, it feels like I've known it for years. Don't quite understand the track, but I am entranced by the rhythm of delight and misdirection. I believe it's about feeling young and in love, like it's the first time. For me, this would be song to dance to, whether it's prom, at a club, or even in my own room. I love a good surprise at the end of the year.

Canadian act number three. All it took was one second for me to be instantly hooked on this song. Tainy teamed up with two Canadians, and provided a song for 2020's resolution: hoping that someone is in to me much as I am in to them. Jessie Reyez and Tory Lanez's vocals go so well, it makes me wonder whether the two fell in love after recording... The magic of music, right? I gets you believing anything (oh so wonderful).

At last, we have reached my favourite song of 2019. For me, this song gets to me on a personal level. Fame comes at a price, and Panic! tells the ups and downs of what it means to be a success. I don't believe the song is completely about Brendon Urie's life, but it does show how far he's come. I would be lying if I said it doesn't scare me about the rise to fame - but when you want it, you got to get it. And that's the motivation I need for 2020. Just you watch.
