Top 100 of 2016: 70 to 61

I've been looking sad in all the nicest places...

070 Marianas Trench - Who Do You Love

Lately, I feel like Marianas Trench have gotten, softer? Not necessarily a bad thing, but this song seems reminiscent of "Beside You." From the chant-like chorus to the vocal range, it's a fun song and all - but I think they can create more rhythm-driven hits like they did in 2011. I'll be waiting for that triumphant return of their scream-singing and what not.

069 DiRTY RADiO - True Love

I quite like DiRTY RADiO, as well as this song. I wish that the song gained more attention though, I found this one to be rather pleasant. Sending out positive vibes, the song brought out a lighter side to the team - not a big change, but still one nonetheless. Always a pleasure to hear from these boys.

068 Martin Garrix & Bebe Rexha - In The Name Of Love

Here we have another song that took me some time to like. I do like Bleta "Bebe" Rexha, and I am surprised how much music she released in 2016. Teaming up with Martin Garrix, this Dance track brings out the hopefulness from the beginning of the relationships. The screeches after the chorus were in the way of the track, but I have gotten to like them - something about them that's got me attached.

067 Iggy Azalea - Team

Not sure what happened to Iggy Azalea and her record company, but it's a shame there was one song released from her. After having a great start, she comes up with this rap piece, with some highlights of lyrics (call me Kylie). The beat hits hard, and has a futuristic sound to it, but I feel like there could have been more. Don't get me wrong, I was listening to this the whole year - but Amethyst Kelly needs to be freed!

066 Galantis - No Money

*Finds out the song was released in 2016 - whole countdown ruined (the show must go on!)* Is it the children singing that makes it appealing? Perhaps, it's an unexpected song that I like. This is what a chant sounds more like. Turn a children's song into a club hit, and you are set for commercial success. Sometimes, it's the simplicity of the song makes it more memorable.

065 Zedd ft Aloe Blacc - Candyman

A cover of Sammy Davis Jr's single, this track celebrates the anniversary of M&M's - but be aware, it's not a sweet track. Mature and sophisticated, Aloe Blacc's voice shines, as the rest goes well with Zedd's toned down mix, creating a coolness from the original rendition. It's remakes like these that make listening to a revival enjoyable.

064 DJ Snake ft Justin Bieber - Let Me Love You

If Justin Bieber was not releasing singles, he was definitely featured in them. Starting off is Bieber's moody collaboration with DJ Snake. All in all, it's not a bad song, the instrumental breaks are interesting and the vocal range is diverse. Sounding similar to "Lean On," consider this piece as a Part II to DJ Snake's journey.

063 Walk Off The Earth - Hold On

Continuing with mellow music, here is one of the sweetest songs from Walk Off The Earth. The song is about love, and wanting to stay together even when times are tough. Some times, the good has to balance the bad to see whether it's worth to see what happens next... Is it just me, or was it that 2016 was the year of feels? Either way, a solid effort from a band that started off paying one guitar together.

062 Zayn & Taylor Swift - I Don’t Wanna Live Forever

The Soundtrack from "Fifty Shades of Grey" is always spot-on. Whether or not you are a fan of the movie, the person in charged of putting the music compilation knows what they are doing. Putting together Zayn Malik & Taylor Swift, and you get this blend of edgy-yet-delicate piece. Embracing the romance, the two talk about can't live without each other love. An unusual track for the film, but it works out for everyone - it's a win-win situation.

061 Ariana Grande - Dangerous Woman

The first release off the album of the same name, Arian Grande showed off her sensual side. What I do like about the song is the 3-count beat, which isn't normal for most Pop songs. Aside from the James Bond-esque theme, this song displays the growth of Grande as an artist, as she progresses her career into other genres of music. Always a pleasure to hear from Ariana Grande, I can't get enough of her voice.
