Top 100 of 2017: 100 to 91

But as long as there are stars above you, you never need to doubt it...
100 John Legend, Cynthia Erivo - God Only Knows

Kicking things off with a cover of the Beach Boys' hopeful song, John Legend & Cynthia Erivo brings out such peaceful melodies. The instruments make this piece, and shines the raw talent of the artists. An incredible performance, and an even better recording.

099 Imagine Dragons - Believer

When Imagine Dragons make a comeback, they go all out with the Rock. Much as I wanted to enjoy this song, I do for the most part... That being said, it's too much like "Radioactive," but with added chants. A commercial success, I will like to see what's next.

Really wanted to enjoy this song, I swear I did! But, the song is not for me. Spoiling his lover with jewelry and love making sessions, this era brings out the Playboy styles of Bruno Mars. Just please don't forget about the ballad days as well!

097 Ariana Grande ft Future - Everyday

The final single from "Dangerous Woman," Ariana Grande teams up with Future in yet another sexual song. I'm not really sure why this was chosen as the next single, want to see more diversity in her sound. Wish that Grande would release another ballad, her voice truly shines like no other artist.

096 DJ E-Feezy ft K. Michelle, Rick Ross, & Fabolous - Got Me Crazy (No Better Love)

This song played after watching a video, and it was an excellent surprise. Twinkling sounds to the rap verses, it's a good balance between rap verse and K Michelle's vocals. Although the song did not get much attention, it's still sounds like summer vibes.

Coming onto the sophomore album, Lorde brings out the theatricality in her music and livens up the countdown. Sticking to her roots, Ella plays with her voice, bringing the song all over the place - it's a wonderful mess. Definitely one fun track from an artist that isn't much about partying.

094 Why Don’t We - Invitation

Wasn't familiar with this band until this year, and they seem promising. From YouTube comes this group of boys, singing to an R&B sound that is similar to Isley Brothers' "Between The Sheets" - just on a G-rated level. Not sure if I will look out for them in 2018, but still a song to lounge around.

093 R5 - Hurts Good

With so many bands out there, it's hard to follow them all. I stumbled upon R5 while looking for new music, and they have that Pop-Rock style familiar to the early 2000s. Going through the 'pain for pleasure' motive, the instrumental has this drop that explains the confusion of the narrator. Not bad from a former Disney Channel star and his family.

092 Sal Houdini ft Rihanna - I Just

Truly a creative song, Rihanna's sample comes from an interview. Sal Houdini was able to create a song that brings out the struggle of wanting someone when they are not available. With a simple piano, the auto-tune doesn't get away from the overall product.

091 John Mayer - Still Feel Like Your Man

There was something about this song that was pleasant. Again with the struggles, John Mayer presents his love for someone else, even when they are no longer together. Going into a a rather pretty melody, there is not much more to add in a plain message that he still misses his former love.
