Top 100 of 2017: 40 to 31

I never knew you were the someone waiting for me...

040 Troye Sivan ft Betty Who - Heaven

"Blue Neighbourhood" was an incredible album, and Troye Sivan continues the saga with this heart-wrenching song. The song may sound nostalgic and wonderful, but it's the realization when you find out that you can't have everything you wanted. Adding Betty Who to the song was a wonderful addition, as it brings out a warmth texture knowing that someone else also feels the same. While waiting for new music from Troye Sivan, this song will settle me for now.

039 DJ Khaled ft Rihanna & Bryson Tiller - Wild Thoughts

DJ Khaled had a number of big collaborations, but this song stood out amongst the others. With Rihanna, Bryson Tiller, and Carlos Santana's "Maria Maria," this combination brought out one fiery track. All of the sexiness in one song, there couldn't have been a better track than this one to make the 2000s fresh again, bringing a new life to the West Side Story. All is forgiven from DJ Khaled shouting out his name in the song.

038 Calvin Harris ft Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry, & Big Sean - Feels

Retro and funky, this Calvin Harris track is one big throwback. One of the many songs of summer, this song is a good time in the making. Not much of an EDM track, Calvin Harris resorts to his guitar and lets the music take you into another era of carelessness and potential happenings... After all, what is one afraid? Definitely a dance tune to even those who can't dance.

037 Serena Ryder - Electric Love

Delivery on pointe. Putting on the direct approach, Serena Ryder's confidence in the song convinces that she is sure of her feelings (damn right she is). For a song with this attitude, there is a lot to take in: guitars, choirs, and the intensity. I am glad to see Serena Ryder's growth in music, there's nothing like this Pop-Rock tune to jam out.

036 Betty Who - Some Kinda Wonderful

That sing-talk bit is hard to pull off, only a few artists are able to manage. While I don't think Betty Who has got it quite down, the verses work for this punch-drunk love song. Replicating an intoxicated night, this song releases all of the suppressed feelings one would be afraid to admit. But nothing like a drunk person to let it all out, and create a rather wonderful song.

035 Keith Urban ft Carrie Underwood - The Fighter

Country gone Pop, and it's amazing. When I first heard this song performed on the Grammys, I already knew that I fell in love once the chorus came in. Carrie Underwood compliments Keith Urban's voice really well, as the reassure that nothing will tear them apart. The true affirmation of love, when one will protect them under any circumstance. A solid effort for both artists pushing the Country boundaries.

034 Ed Sheeran - Perfect

Nothing like Ed Sheeran releasing another wedding song. But that's the problem: all of Sheeran's love ballads are so sweet, they are actually irresistible. I find this song to be one of his best love songs, I'm sure the violins suckered me into the ooey-gooey love fest. And if one version of the song wasn't enough, definitely check out the symphony duet with Andrea Bocelli - just when you think a song couldn't be any more sappy.

033 James Arthur - Naked

Following up on the success of "Say You Won't Let Go" would be a hard feat - but James Arthur surprised everyone with "Naked." Soul-baring and honest, that is all Arthur wants to hear. Add in a piano only to follow with a symphony for an emotional teardown, and you've got me all swept away with this song. If James Arthur can follow up with another masterpiece, I'm not sure if I'll be okay.

032 Zayn ft PartyNextDoor - Still Got Time

Keeping up with One Direction's solo efforts, I was surprised to find this Zayn track - the single didn't get much recognition, and it really baffles me. In a duet with PartyNextDoor, the song has a chill party vibe, and letting the good times roll. Compared to the previous efforts, this is a nice surprise from Zayn - it was a nice step out of the Pop sound usually known from him.

031 Kendrick Lamar ft Rihanna - LOYALTY.

Got to give it up to rappers, for they can turn any sample into an awesome beat. Did not know that this song took a bit from Bruno Mars' "24K Magic," as Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna swap verses that comes off real cool. I don't know how these artists are so talented, is there anything they can't do? Nothing is more honest than being dedicated to one person, and putting it all out in a song. That's real.
