New Old Music

Baby Bash ft Akon - Baby, I'm Back

I was in the car with my friend one day, and I let him take control of the stereo (I want to know what are his choice of songs). Through all of the EDM and Folk songs, this one stood out to me. It's not a new song that I am hearing for the first time, but I admit that I forgot about this piece. This was the era where Akon was rising, and the old became relevant again. This was also the era of simple beats, allowing the listener to pay attention to the artist's words. I wonder how I could have let this song get away, still sounds fresh after beyond a decade - that's when you know the music is good.

Swimming With Dolphins - Sleep To Dream

When I was watching videos on Vevo long time ago, this video started to play after I was listening to another song. What first came to thought was, 'Oh, they're another Mission District.' But after listening to the song, I thought the band resembled more of an Owl City vibe... Turns out, Adam Young is associated with the band! Perhaps Young is secretly trying to dominate the music scene with all of these unknown artists, one song at a time. All in all, this song has a synthesizing rhythm that leaves you feeling, could there be more out of the song? Perhaps I should listen to more Dolphins.

Ab Soto - 1,3,5,6 Cha Cha B*tch

Who is Ab Soto, and why is he so fabulous?! Stumbling upon this Instagram post, I was curious to find out the song used rather than the user's assets (but he's pretty). Turns out, the video is just as appealing as the song. Although it's not really melodic, it's undeniably catchy. The song has just enough attitude and spunk, but does not go over the top. Once in a while, you just need to enjoy the song for some senseless fun. And it's doesn't get any better than this ensemble, especially when it sparkles and shines bright as this man :"D

Cris Cab - Liar Liar

Now let's pick up where I last left off: new music to my ears! I found this song back in 2014, only to find out it was released in late 2013. Not sure who is Cris Cab, but this song gives a lot of promise. Very chilled and filled with angst, the single gives off a cool vibe, thanks to the Pharrell Williams. Together, they create a piece that makes you want to hit repeat. Where is Cab now? He is still making music, although he is better known in Europe than in North America. Until then, just enjoy the piece for what it is, an absolute treat to satisfy your senses this summer.
