Top 100 of 2013: 70 to 61

Must Be Living In The Wrong Generation

070 Glenn Morrison ft Islove - Goodbye

Heard this in the oddest place: a sale! It was the Lululemon Sea Wheeze, a half marathon held once a year. There was a shop in addition to the half marathon, and they had Sirius Radio playing the background. This was such a fascinating piece to hear (again and again), even though the chorus can be confusing at times (I mean, snowing in Mexico?) Yes, those lyrics should not be taken literally, but it tells a story about wondering why their love has left them. Ever since that sale, I've been hearing it more lately. Nice.

069 Martin Solveig & The Cataracs - Hey Now

What is there to say about this song? It's a bunch of joy, with a random rap verse - collaborations were a big thing this year, eh? So without over complicating this, they just want to have fun. Instead of feeling down and depressed, enjoy yourself and go out for the heck of it! Save your worries for another time, and who wouldn't when listening to this song? And being the kings of the playground, you better be having the freaking-awesomest time ever!

068 Pharrell - Happy

Aside from being the official artist for the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack, in addition he makes this song a single. And the best part? Making a full music video in a span of a day. One the website, 24 Hours Of Happy, you see some dancers, some familiar faces, and the man himself. It's a little ditty that gets you into this contagious jam. After all, when one person smiles at you, can't help yourself from smiling back. The genius that is Pharrell, he can make anything better, including your whole day.

067 Bridgit Mendler - Hurricane

Why does she have some accent when she sings/talks/sing-talk? Either way, she makes song catchy music, right? This one is no exception. Although it may be a confusing message, she doesn't want to be swept off her feet by her past lover, but she simply can't resist. And she's not foolish about it, she is well aware… Who else has been down that road? I like her sound, it's laid-back easy-listening Pop that everyone can favour. I especially like this song mixed with a Miley Cyrus track - that is Pop perfection right there.

066 Lorde - Royals

Seriously, she made such an impact in the shortest amount of time. Out of nowhere, the radio puts her song onto heavy rotation for no reason whatsoever. Apparently, Selena Gomez has been singing it on her tour? Oddly enough, Lorde is no fan of Gomez… That put aside, I can't help but be reminded of 80s music whenever I hear it. But the thing is: 80s music wasn't as simple compared to this. Maybe it's because of the message it delivers, which is not about love at all. She knows how to get people interested, and I can't wait to see what this 16 year-old has to bring next year.

065 Mika ft Ariana Grande - Popular Song

Officially, the song was released in 2012. But I added this one in here because it's hard to resist this peppy track! Teaming up with Ariana Grande, this song brings shines light in the broadway field. I love the fact that he samples Wicked, and twists up the message from its original meaning. Is there any reason to be the 'chosen one' that everyone adores? Not exactly, because just like in the video, you may never know what happens next. Cheeky indeed, but absolutely a thrill!

064 Avril Lavigne - Rock N Roll

I'm not sure why I like this track so much - but I will say that the video definitely plays a big impact for its position. It's a nice blend of old and new Avril mixed into this one song. Old being the sound of the song, new being her looks; put them together and you get what she stands for. Her music may not have gotten a lot of attention, but it's a fact that she is still relevant. Keeping her appearance which seems to never age, she can sing about being young forever d":

063 Demi Lovato - Heart Attack

Her voice always amazes me… In song, that is. When it comes to performances, she could do less. This song exploded earlier this year, it was impossible to escape from it. But it makes sense, being a judge on the X Factor, people want to see what she's got going on. And oh boy, she doesn't disappoint with this track. I always liked her voice, and the message she delivers about not wanting to be in love is a struggle that people go through. Just stay away from that feeling, it's not happening. She brilliantly puts that in her song, always enticing you with her voice, the sound, and especially the violins. Love me some Demi!

062 Janelle Monáe - Dance Apocalyptic

May have said this before, but I'll say it again: my obsessions are black & white, and Janelle Monáe. She is such a style icon, with the simplicity of two colours, Janelle knows how to keep things classy and tasteful. Like this song, you just want to go bezerk and wild when all she does is let her hair down and rock out in some white leggings and a tank top. But the questions she asks makes me wonder: would I freak out if the world was falling apart? If dancing is considered a 'freak-out,' I would most definitely do that. Never a low point when Janelle comes out to play. Thank goodness for the Electric Lady!

061 Cher Lloyd ft T.I. - I Wish

This is the gay man's anthem for every time he sees an attractive straight man… There, I said it. I always think Cher Lloyd is older than she really is (actual age is 20). What she sings about seem more… adult? But she adds her own playful touch-up to her lyrics. She needs a bunch of things to impress a boy (or, what she thinks will impress a boy) based on the type of girls she sees surrounding him. Add in a 33 year-old T.I., and you've got yourself a hot track about things you be wanting to get the man of your dreams… Sigh, if only if it were easy to call my genie d";

This comes to an end for today's 10. Let me know what you think in a comment below :"D
