Top 100 of 2016: 10 to 1

You tell me to tread, I'd rather be a wild one instead...
010 Zayn - Like I Would

While I am not a fan of the debut single, Zayn definitely redeemed himself with this track. In this defining track, he's certain that there will be no better love than him. That's the confidence I like to hear, especially with the additions of choirs and electronic mystery. Everything about this song is what I want to hear more from the former One Direction member.

009 Carly Rae Jepsen - Boy Problems

Friendship conquers relationships, always. The masterpiece of "E•Mo•Tion" comes the most Pop song off the track. Pure bubblegum Pop, this piece is more complex beyond the surface. Whether you have troubles in your relationship, it's not worth fighting over with your friends. And to top it off, the video is a glittery 80s explosion. I can't wait to see what is next for Carly Rae Jepsen, just know it's going to be exciting.

008 Alessia Cara - Wild Things

Fitting in is not for Alessia Cara, as she speaks out her truth. Cara not a cool kid, and is perfectly fine with finding out where she belongs. The drums, the chanting, and the ad-libs, it's the complete package of an anthem for 2016. It's no wonder why I have been putting this song on play the whole year, I look forward to the next step in Alessia Cara's career, she will go far.

007 Ariana Grande - Into You

One of her more sexual songs, Ariana Grande has unleashed the Dangerous Woman in this piece. Filled with passion and fire, it's all about physical love and the instances from love at first sight. The ending of the song got me hooked, from the breakdown to the background vocals, and that incredible high note that Grande is able to hit. A true pleasure of Ariana Grande, there is a need of more powerhouse songs like this one.

006 Drake ft Rihanna - Too Good

Leave it to Drake to bring out all of the feels in this song. Teaming with Rihanna, there is no denial that this duo can make brilliant music together. What gets to me is the bridge to the chorus, when he comes to realize that the relationship must end. It's a heartbreak that can make any one feel something. Even if you haven't been in a relationship, it's still a sad ending. The truth about growing up is finding your worth. I enjoy when Drake sings, it's one of his strengths in his career. Give it up to sad songs sounding this crisp.

005 Fifth Harmony - That’s My Girl

Thus, the end of Fifth Harmony. I was surprised to find out Camila Cabello left the group at the end of the year, especially when their career was launching into superstardom. All notes aside, this has to be one of their best songs, empowering women to be their best self in this funk-filled track. Not to mention, everyone's vocals are on point. If anything, this somehow ends up being the appropriate song to end the five-member group. What happens next? Hopefully more songs like these. Wish the best to all of these girls.

004 Ellie Goulding - Something In The Way You Move

Now this is more of the direction Ellie Goulding should be heading! Having experienced with Dance tracks in the past few years, this song proves that Goulding has all that it takes to make such an infectious single. All drama and intensity, this Pop track has you moving on your feet, especially to that expressive rhythm. Sounds like Ellie Goulding is comfortable in this genre, and I do hope she continues to explore this area. Like it or not, it's time to feel the beat!

003 Taylor Swift - New Romantics

As a bonus track from "1989," this is the best single from Taylor Swift. The whole song is essentially who Swift is as a person, even if it means making a fool of yourself. Epitomizing herself, it's a song that everyone can relate to, from stupid moves to heartbreaks, and everything in between. The whole style of this song proves that Taylor Swift is meant to be in Pop music, and she is shining in this era. It's an important song to me, and had lifted me at times when I was down. An outstanding finale to the era, let's see comes next of Swift.

002 OneRepublic - Wherever I Go

Confidence all wrapped in this song. This thrill of a song brings out the wild side of OneRepublic - it's a confirmation of love, that needs to be shouted out to the heavens. Each addition of an instrument adds intensity to the song, delivering such a brilliant piece from the Rock band. If you have not seen the music video, it truly expresses all of the emotions of the song, going from dull to fireworks. Out of the comfort zone for OneRepublic, this piece exemplifies the quality they deliver in all of their songs. Well done.

001 Drake ft Wizkid & Kyla - One Dance

And, another track from Drake! I believe this is the first time to have an artist featured twice in the Top Ten. But nonetheless, this song begins them all. There was no escaping this song, and I had no problem with that. From dance challenges to singing the bridge, this song brought out the best in everyone. A definite 180 degree turn from his other singles, and it turned out to be a banger. Congratulations Drake, you definitely deserved the Top Spot for 2016.
